November 14, 2008 Today we flew to Bangkok and settled into the Rama Gardens Hotel. Rudy stayed in the room waiting for his suit and three shirts to be delivered while the rest of us walked around the hotel. We wanted to see the pool and I missed a step on one of the platforms and twisted my ankle. It didn’t hurt that much and I tried not to think about it. We went back to my room and made Rudy model his brand new suit and shirt. We all went for a swim in the pool. As we were walking back to the room, my ankle started to really hurt. I went back to the room and put my foot up and iced it. Just before dinner, my ankle hurt so much I knew I couldn’t walk on it. Cecile, who is a nurse, wrapped my ankle and I called for a wheel chair. Rudy wheeled me around the buffet tables and I pointed and he put what I wanted on my dinner plate. I took some Advil and went to sleep. November 15, 2008 We woke at 4:15 a.m. for a 6:45 a.m. flight. When we met our tour guide, I explained what happened and she got me a wheel chair at the airport. My ankle felt a lot better when I took more Advil, but I still couldn’t put any weight on it. We said good-bye to most of our tour group at the airport though Alice would travel with us most of the way. A porter pushed me and the wheelchair to the front of the line. The three of us were first on the plane. When we landed there was another wheelchair waiting for me and the porter put us first in line for customs. This was the procedure for all three flights!!! It sure came in handy and I was so lucky it happened on the last night of our trip!!! Epilog: Eight days after our return, a group took over both airports and closed them down. We were happy to be safe at home!!!
