May 1, 2006 Hi Everyone, We have sold Boundless, our home on the water for six years!!! Rudy and I were running around the day before we left for Texas getting contracts signed, notarized and faxed in between packing and re-packing. It was like a comedy act!!! What’s new!!! Tom and Phyllis dropped us off at Stewart and we were on our way. When we got on the plane in Chicago, Rudy surprised me by upgrading our plane tickets to First Class. It was one of my Birthday presents!! Another one was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen. The sun set above the thunderstorms with all the colors of the rainbow which flooded the entire sky!!!! Since we have had our home on wheels, we have driven as far north as Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and as far south as Key West, Florida. We have done three Habitat for Humanity Builds. One in Florence, Mass., one in Panama City, Florida and one in Slidell (near New Orleans) Louisiana. In Florida and in Louisiana, we saw the devastation of hurricanes Rita and Katrina. We felt honored to do these builds and I learned new skills in each build. We were also fortunate to be in New Orleans at Mardi Gras and enjoyed the experience immensely!! When we arrived back in Houston, we found our RV and car in great condition after six weeks of resting while we returned home to attend a nephew’s wedding. We were concerned since they reported baseball size hailstones the week before!!! We are now in San Antonio, Texas where we visited the Alamo. We ate in Casa Rio the oldest restaurant on the River Walk. We took a Riverboat ride, walked along the River Walk and saw waterfalls and streams along the way. It was really a great day. Our next stop is Big Bend National Park in Texas. Then we’ll start our trip North with our first stop at the Carlsbad Caverns….. Rudy and I would love to hear from all of you… Love to all….Faith and Rudy |
