Day 13 We're back! Tom and I left the dock at Ken's at about 9:30. A little late but we needed to wait for a high tide. We made our way out of the Folly River, through the Stono River and through Charleston. During our stay we did do some sight seeing and a little travel. It was good to spend some time with Ken. Then we started along the ICW one more time. We did about 46 miles for the day. About 30 of that was along the ICW. The forecast was for rain and thunderstorms with light winds. We actually didn't get any rain but it was cloudy all day. The temperature was dropping all day and the winds built. In the afternoon it was blowing 20 to 25 with gusts to 30, on our nose! We seemed to be fighting the tide all day and seldom got above 5 kts. I hope tomorrow is a little better. Between the winds and the tides we were slower than expected and did the last 5 miles in the dark. I really don't want to do that again. The scenery was about the same except that we didn't see one Porpoise after we left Charleston. The days travel along the ICW seemed like a lot of work. The water depth in the channel seemed less than previous days. The channel was narrow and we needed to concentrate full time to avoid the shallows. That combined with the weather made the day go slow....oh well! Now we are anchored in a quiet river just off of the ICW. Time for dinner, a little TV and early to bed. Another day that I am glad we didn't go off shore!
