February 13th-14th As we headed out this morning at 7 a.m., the winds picked up to 20-25 knots and we were going 8.5-9 knots going about 96 nm in 12 hours. Since the conditions were unpleasant, we decided to hide behind the island of Saba for the night. We picked up a mooring ball in the dark Since no-one felt like eating much, I took out the chicken soup I had made in the Canaries and ate while listening to the howling winds. At least we weren't traveling in the bobbing seas. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!! Today brought more of the same conditions except we left at 5 a.m.!! We had rain on and off most of the day with high winds (up to 30 knots) and waves!!! but we were moving....about 8-9 knots an hour!! We took up a mooring ball off of Norman Island and to stay the night. When they came around for payment of the mooring ($25), they told us it has been a very cold and rainy winter in the Caribbean. Good thing we aren't staying here very long!!! Everyone went for a swim and then we had dinner. Shawn and I played cards, while the guys read and then went to sleep. Rudy didn't sleep much the night before and needed his sleep!!
