February 7th-9th Last night (6th) on my watch the winds died down and we had to turn the motor on until 6 a.m. the next morning. Then the winds were great...from the south at 10-20 and we were on a board reach. It was a beautiful day with clear skies and a great breeze!!! Then the winds disappeared around 8 p.m. and we had to turn the engine on!! On the 8th, we had a great sailing day with all the sails up and going about 150 nm. It kept up all day until 10 p.m. and then the engine went on all through the night. At about noon we went under a cloud and we had winds up to 15 knots. We were again on a board reach and it felt good to be sailing again!!! On Wednesday the 9th, we sailed from noon to 3 p.m. and then we got into a low with hardly any winds. It is forecasted to be like this for the next couple of days....I hope the "they" are wrong!!! COOKING ADVENTURES ON BOUNDLESS I am getting accustomed to cooking with 1-3 pots on the burners oscillating on their **gimbal with **fiddles. And I am getting accustomed to timing opening the oven door with the sway of the boat. We all are getting accustomed to eating everything in soup bowls so the food doesn't slide off out plates. However, we still haven't figured out how to stop the utensils salt, pepper and misc. from sliding into our laps at dinner. When I finally start cooking on land, I am going to have Rudy build me a small see-saw to stand on in front of the stove so I will be able to cook!! **Gimbal:The stove is attached to the boat on both sides. This allows the stove to rock back and forth keeping the stove level while the boat is in motion. You think you see the stove swaying and the pots look like they are ready to fly right off the stove, but in reality, the stove is level and the boat is rocking back and forth!! So much fun!!! **Fiddle: These are two removable bars that can clip onto two out of the four sides of the stove. These bars surround the pot to keep it from sliding off the stove. Rudy, by using a coat hanger, devised another fiddle when I need to use more than one pot.
