February 4th-6th We had three great days of sailing with the trade winds going about 150 nm a day!!! What a difference!!! The seas are getting bigger about 6-9 feet high as the winds get stronger about 15-20 knots. We all hope this continues for a while. On Saturday the 5th, we caught a 15 pound Dorado. Rudy cut it so we will have two meals. One I cooked that night and the other I froze. We celebrated with brownies!!! I have gotten questions concerning how we spend our day on this cruise. Below is a general idea. You cruisers out there can skip this part!! Typical Day 6 hours of watch ** 6-8 hours of sleep or try to sleep in the bouncy rolly waves 1-2 hours of preparing food without dropping the meals on the floor 1-3 hours on the radio with the cruisers net where we get each others positions twice a day and to say hello and listen to Herb at night for the weather 1-2 hours changing sails and changing them again (Rudy is always helping everyone with their watch when we need to change sails) 1-2 hours writing emails to family and friends which is the highlight of our day!!! Keep those emails coming...we really appreciate them!!! (remember to erase my message first....) The rest of the day is used for reading, talking or playing Yahtzee!! **On Watch we have to do just that...WATCH. We watch for other boats, watch the wind direction and watch the sails. If we see another boat, we watch to make sure we are not their way. If we are, we try to reach them by radio (VHF). If that doesn't work, we move out of the way...FAST!!! If the wind direction changes, we need to change the position of the sails. If the sails need trimming we do that. If we are lucky, there will be on other boats, and no wind change so we can read, listen to books or music or just look at the stars!!!
