The weather was near perfect for burning fuel. We had the sails out for a couple of hours but mostly just motoring. The clouds from the morning dissipated leaving a clear sunny day with a light breeze.....mostly on our nose. As night approached we could tell the transition was going to be something to see. The moon rose just before sunset. It was a beautiful fall full moon! It was brilliant! Only high wispy clouds marred the pale blue sky. The sun set was dazzling! As the sun dropped below the horizon it lit those high wispy clouds on fire. It was a once in a lifetime sunset/moon rise! The moon was with us all night. It made everything visible! The dew on Boundless was almost as heavy as rain since there weren't any clouds to hold the moisture. Because of the bright moon only the brightest stars were visible even several miles out to sea. It seemed as though only the major constellations were visible without all the clutter of the millions of other stars. The dolphins most have noticed it was a full moon also! There were several large pods of animals that played for long periods of time around Boundless as we made our way Southwest. I guess they aren't as used to seeing boats moving through the water at 6 kts as the animals in the Med are. The dolphin in the med seldom even change course when they pass a boat. In the bright moonlight we could see the sleek grey/white torpedoes flash and spin under water while jumping and diving to keep us interested. The sunrise on Saturday, November 27th was not spectacular but it was fast and the planets were there to help. The moon dropped just before the sun rose to another almost cloudless day. The barometer was holding at 1025 with a drop forecast with the approaching low. The light winds only lasted a short while. With the rising of the sun the winds rose also. The waves weren't large yet but they were choppy enough to almost stop Boundless as we made our way into the wind and waves. I headed towards shore once again and almost immediately found lighter winds and almost no waves. We are still traveling parallel to the shore of Morocco. We decided to go to Essaouira or Agadir, Morocco to wait for the low to pass to make our final push to the Canaries. We'll go to Agadir if the winds will allow. It is a little farther but it will leave us a shorter trip to the Islands, just over 200 miles, a little less than 36 hours motoring and faster if we can get the sails up again! Steve and I both have flights scheduled on December the 7th so we won't have a lot of leeway but we might get a couple of days to get Boundless ready for a rest and for us to relax and enjoy the Canary Islands. We'll see!
