August 14th - August 26th Costa Bravo, Spain As we approached Spain, we were welcomed by a pod of Dolphins playing in the waters. The first town we anchored at in Spain was Cadaques. The first day there was a chance of high winds and we decided to stay on the boat. The winds were strong, but no one dragged and it felt good after so much heat!!! The next day we went into town and had lunch. We had an antipasto, main dish, dessert and Sangria for two for 20 Euros!!! As we walked along the streets of this town, we passed a man sharpening knives for the restaurants with his sharpener on the back of his motorcycle several times, or rather he passed us!!! We found out that there was an art exhibit that night, so we decided to come back for dinner and to look at the art exhibit. Rudy was thrilled I didn't buy any paintings!! On August 16, we traveled to Blanes. There was no room in the marina and after we anchored, we found out that we were anchored in the pathway for a ferry that lands on the beach. We explained that we would be leaving at first light to the captain of the ferryboat on the VHF and he told us that there would be no problem. We left early the next morning with some wind. We were going between 3.5-5.5 knots with all the sails up. The first thunderstorm we saw ran parallel to us and we decided to pull into a marina as the second one was approaching. As we went into Puerto De Arenys De Mar, the thunderstorm was right behind us. Within 20 minutes of our arrival the sky got black except for the lightning and the heavens opened up. Mother Nature provided a high power jet wash, a little hail blasting and enough wind to keep it interesting. Timing is everything!! And it is soooo much better to be nestled into a berth watching the storm than on the sea in the storm!!!! When the rain subsided, we celebrated making a wise choice and had a nice lunch and experienced Sangria with Cava....different from Sangria with Vino and extremely good!!!! On August 19th, we decided to travel to Barcelona. We spend the next week seeing to Boat Brokerages and learning the city of Barcelona for all our wants and needs and of course doing this and that. (I forget who is in charge of this and who does that!!) The most important thing we have accomplished is the viewing of four movies in the last four days!!! (We need to catch up to all of you in the states!!!) The fifth day we went to the Aquarium and to see an IMAX show on skiing……anything to keep cool!!!! We plan to get our car in Napoule, France and then slowly come back to Barcelona stopping along the way and see the sights from a different perspective!!! We will let you know what was out there in our next log!!!! Adios
